José Albarrán's Presentation at Global Prout Convention
The landscape of the world is a mirror of ourselves. It seems we have been at war with the Creator. We are unable to understand the greatness of life, when we choose to support the current ruling system which creates death in a thousand forms. We believe that simply imprisoning people will not prevent crime. It is not hospitals that restore health to people. Money and the materialist consumer syndrome of Neuro-Money do not end people's suffering. The higher knowledge of who we really are can change the world... Education and Agricultural Transformation in Centro Madre
A group of school children from the local school came to visit our farm and were able to see recommended techniques for organic farming first hand. One of the Cuban agronomers has been working with their class and brought the children and their teachers out to see the farm so that they would better understand how to grow their own food. He introduced Didi Ananda Sadhana and she welcomed the students and began their tour of the farm. We started in the compost area to show them how nutritious soil can be developed. Dada Atamapranananda helped the students gain a better understanding of the amount of heat generated by composting material by sticking an iron post into the center of the compost pile. The students were amazed to feel how hot the iron post got after just a few minutes in the compost pile. Then Didi took the children to the worm composting section and allowed the kids to gently touch the worms, while she explained how vermacomposting works. The venue was beautiful Ananda Gaorii Master Unit in the countryside, one hour from Copenhagen, with lawns and gardens, apple trees and wild cherries. Dada Ambareshvarananda coordinated renovations which were done by Dada Rudranath, Pavan, Ashutosh (Brazil), Pam'kaj (Australia) and Dominic (Poland). Agicultural transformation in Centro Madre![]() Starting in February 2009, a very intense effort has been undertaken to develop a self-reliant, integrated farm at Centro Madre in Barlovento, Venezuela. Our goal is both to create a regular source of income from a wide variety of agricultural products and to educate the local community about the principles and practices of small-scale organic agriculture. Dada Atmapranananda supervised the agricultural project from dawn to dusk with his tireless effort. At each step of the way, we were advised and supported by two agronomists from the agricultural institute of the government (CIARA) in preparation for an inspection to evaluate the progress of our 3-hectare farm. In addition to two paid farm workers, many volunteers came from the Prout Research Institute of Venezuela and the Ananda Marga community to lend a hand to this collective effort. Several benefactors gave us financial donations to buy materials. It was astonishing how hard everyone worked, and the results were very impressive. CIARA recognizes 12 aspects of an ideal integrated small-scale agricultural project. Half of them we already had, and the other half we started during this period: [Click Read more...] Posted by maheshvarananda Wednesday, May 06, 2009 (16:29:53)
